Backed by success of two National conferences on sustainable CSR(2013 and 2014) - both of which were supported by MNRE; Sharp Developments proudly announces the 3rd national conference on ‘Business case for Sustainable CSR Interventions’ on 15th July 2015 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

The first Conference in 2013, focussed on evolving thought leadership on sustainable CSR; and the 2nd edition of the conference focussed on case studies for sustainable CSR highlighting different options for solar based CSR interventions. The 3rd Conference would essentially focus on Business Case for Sustainable/ RE based CSR interventions, highlighting the role of different organizations for implementation of Sustainable CSR practices, and how Government of India and corporates along with implementing NGO’s can implement them in the best possible manner and leverage them to create green energy based sustainable CSR program aligned with their respective corporate mandate. This will include best practices; international case studies and lessons learned which can be implemented in Indian CSR context.

Conference Highlights:

As PSU’s/Corporate have a huge role to play in CSR funding, this conference will also be aligned to explore how major PSU’s/Corporate can be encouraged to use CSR funds for Green/Sustainable CSR practices.

The conference will pave the way for defining and implementing the boundaries of Green Energy CSR and how a collaborative alliance can be structured with key stakeholders.  It will aim to address how various renewable energy based interventions can be integrated with other CSR sectors such as education; health; poverty reduction; rural enterprise development and social business projects.

The conference also aims to explore Sustainable CSR interventions by promoting GOI 'Swacch Bharat' mission under Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. It shall facilitate increasing the convergence with CSR funds from Central PSU’s/Corporate as well as Corporates for Swachh Bharat.

“Make in India” is an initiative of the Government of India, to encourage companies to manufacture their products in India. As preliminary steps are being taken by the government to promote skill development in relation to the larger ‘Make in India’ mission, the role that corporations and industry associations can play under the umbrella of the new CSR law has to be discussed and planned in an equally coherent manner. To take this discussion ahead, this conference shall also explore the possibility of Sustainable CSR through Skill Development initiatives towards promoting ‘Make in India’. Moreover, Skills based on Renewable technology, Green Building practices, Green energy, etc. can also be promoted to support the basic agenda of Sustainable CSR.

1. Strategies and mechanisms for leveraging CSR funds towards Govt. of India Initiative     such as Swachh Bharat’, ‘Make in India’ mission, Skill Development and sustainability

2. Highlight Government of India’s policies, programs and schemes and how CSR
    interventions can be build around them.

3. Attract large scale investments through CSR mechanisms for Sustainable CSR in India;

The conference shall form a platform for B2B; B2G interactions and aligning CSR investments with other on-going GoI initiatives in the sector of Sustainable Development.
