SHARP DEVELOPMENTS (SD) is a non-government development organization; registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. For nearly two decades, Sharp Developments has been a leading NGO working in the area of Climate Change; Low Carbon Technologies; Energy Efficiency; Renewable Energy; Energy and Environmental Management; Rural Development;Technology Transfer; Social and Community Development; Disaster Management; Capacity Building and Training; Legal and Consumer Awareness; Gender sensitization; and Poverty Alleviation. While, on one hand, it undertake field projects and interfaces with communities to develop hands-on experience; on the other hand it works very closely with decision makers in New Delhi to understand the political economy; nuances of policy implementation; government targets in areas of mutual interest and finally we have the ability to act as communicative bridge between various involved stakeholders.

Sharp Developments is deeply committed to objectives of sustainable development in India and its organizational objectives are fully aligned to support Government of India’s mandate to ensure equitable growth objectives balancing environmental and economic development.  Sharp Developments supports national objectives as laid out in the Five Year Plan document and is currently focused on various programs being undertaken by respective agencies and ministries such as the Planning Commission; Ministry of Environment and Forests; Ministry on New and Renewable Energy; Ministry of Power; Ministry of Science & Technology; Ministry of Water Resources and various state governments.

Equally focused are organizational objectives to support such sustainable growth through education; training and capacity building.  Towards meeting these objectives; Sharp Developments support Government of India initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry of Human Resource Development; Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Ministry of Rural Development; Ministry of Panchayati Raj; Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.

On the socio-economic front; Sharp Developments – under Project Shiksha; supports the mandate of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment; Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution. Collectively, Sharp Developments also supports the Government of India’s international commitments; multi-lateral environmental agreements and other global initiatives in the field of climate change and sustainable development that encompasses social; community; rural and urban development space.
